"Walk your Talk - En marche"
Our Project
"Walk your Talk - En marche"
Our goal:
Hiking from Gibraltar to the North Cape and encouraging donations for 2 non-profit organizations.
Hiking from Gibraltar to the North Cape and encouraging donations for 2 non-profit organizations.
These donations will help to build and sustain the functioning of 2 projects:
I. First "Kinderhaus Bodensee e.V" in Germany which needs to further renovate some of their buildings (Specifically The Attic and the Roof). 10 years ago, Casey and his family transformed an old farm into a foster home which also provides post-traumatic and developmental psychotherapy. This little Paradise was created for children who need shelter and post-traumatic care. It is hosting now 8 children (coming from diverse dysfunctional/precarious/nefarious backgrounds and families) and counts 12 employees (mostly social educators and psychotherapists). Casey was working in the institution as a member of the management team and also as a social educator with the children. I am helping there too as a volunteer and fundraiser whenever it is needed.
II. Second, "Innocence Lost Foundation'". This NGO was founded by Ava Vanderstarren (canadian philanthropist) and Fazineh Keita (ex child-soldier in the Sierra Leone civil war). Its goal is to build a community center in Kabala, Sierra Leone (Fazineh hometown) which will be a safe haven and post-traumatic recovery center for former child-soldiers and their own impacted children. The organization is also providing financial support to the village community through multiple sponsorships and grants programs in: education, healthcare, business development , food distribution
You can start donating, now, (directly on their donation page below), for the 2 associations who are leading these 2 projects @kinderhaus Bodensee e.V. and @Innocence Lost Foundation:
In Brief/en Bref:
Donations for the "Kinderhaus Bodensee e.V." will go towards:
- Sustaining the functioning of the Kinderhaus Bodensee e.V which provides a safe haven and a home for abused children or children stemming from difficult precarious situations in Mindersdorf, Germany (home county of Casey)
Donations for "innocence lost foundation"
will go towards:
- Building a community/rehabilitation center for children and family of children formerly abused and used as child-soldiers in Kabala, Sierra Leone, West Africa (home-town of Fazineh Keita )
Our hope: is that, in the future, these 2 institutions/non-profit organizations will create long-lasting bonds and cooperations.
This, in order to :
- raise awareness, develop empathie, educate the children to be open-minded, generous and kind towards the most deprived and less privileged ones, to give the children new and intelligent perspectives on the conditions of living of the children in each of these 2 countries
- communicate with each other, sharing activities, exchanging cultural traditions, developing a "pen-pals" project between the children within our 2 institutions, exchange programs...
... and so many more beautiful projects that we can come up with, once the alliance Germany-Sierra Leone is set!
We could call it a triangle since "Innocence lost foundation" created by Ava Vanderstarren and Fazineh Keita is based in Vancouver, Canada, but collects all their donations for their project in Kabala, Sierra Leone.
So it is the beginning of an alliance of 3 countries, 2 projects, 2 associations!
